If God Were Your Father…

“If God Were Your Father…”

A major world shift is taking place. It has been going on for some time, but now it is happening at an exponential rate. Many refer to it as a “One World Religion” because it has to do with the re-writing of the Holy Bible and saying that all religions worship (or pray to) the same God. It’s not a re-writing of the Muslim, Buddhist, or Jewish faith, it’s a re-writing of Christianity. It is a removal of the death, burial, and resurrection Jesus Christ, saying “He” is not necessary for the forgiveness of sins, or life after death in Heaven. It says that His death on the Cross was one of three things… 1. Not necessary, 2. Not real, 3. It took care of all the sins of the world whether you believe it or not – it was Gods’ way of solving the problem so everybody would be sure to go to Heaven. The new tangent many are promoting is that Hell does not exist because God is Love. This is socialism, not Christianity.

Do we all worship and pray to the same God? Is God love to the degree that everybody is automatically forgiven? Let me make one point very clear – I am not talking to anyone here who believes the Bible is flawed and has errors. If you do not accept the Holy Bible as the inerrant Word of God from the book of Genesis to Revelation, there is no reason to read any further. You might as well just stop here and we will have to agree to disagree. I believe in freedom of religion and freedom of choice. However, I do not believe in re-writing the Word of God to the point of saying we all worship the same God or to justify our sin. So, if you’re bold enough to keep reading, brave enough to accept what the Bible says over what you would rather it say, and humble enough to accept the inerrant Word of God then please do so. This following is not me speaking – it is Jesus Christ…

John 8:42–47 (NKJV)
42 Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me.
43 Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.
44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
46 Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me?
47 He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”

John Chapter eight begins with a woman caught in adultery – He forgave her and said “go and sin no more.” Then speaking to the scribes and Pharisees He declares He is the “Light of the World.” He says if they do not believe He is the Son of God they will die in their sins. He only speaks what His Father (God) speaks. If they abide in His Word they are His Disciples. They will know the truth and be free. He then clearly sets the boundary that if God were their Father they would love Him. But in verses forty-three through forty-seven He tells them they are not of God, but rather the devil. They are not listening to the truth. They believe a lie. Remember, these are the scribes and Pharisees of the Jewish faith! If the Pharisees who study the Old Testament Word of God are worshipping the devil, then what about Muslims, Buddhists, and all the other religions of the world that do not accept Jesus as the Son of God, who was born of the Virgin Mary, suffered and died on the Cross, was buried, and rose on the third day? According to Christ’s teaching – they are not of God. Why? Because “If God were your Father…

Christ’s teaching makes it clear that anyone who does not love “Him” does not worship or pray to the same God! As a matter of fact they have a different father – the devil! If anyone does not believe that Christ proceeded forth and came from God… If anyone does not believe that God sent Him… If anyone does not accept His words as truth… If anyone does not believe Him, it’s because they do not know God, they do not hear God, and they are not of God.

To say anything else would not be Christianity. No one can call themselves a “Christian” unless they accept Jesus Christ as their Savior – this is Christianity. It is not the same as all the other religions. We do not worship and pray to the same God. We preach Christ and Christ crucified, buried and risen. He is the Son of God who came to the world not to condemn but to save (John 3:16-17). There is no other name under heaven given whereby man may be saved (Acts 4:12). For all who call on the Name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:9-10,13, Acts 2:21, 16:30-31). The gospel of Christ is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes – for the Jew first and also for the gentiles (Roman 1:16). He is the way, the truth, and the life, and no man comes to the Father (God) accept through Him (John 14:6). He who has seen Him has seen the Father (John 14:9). He and the Father are one (John 10:30).

Strong words! But yes, man has free choice – God created us that way. He will not have heaven full of puppets on strings. Hell is real – God created it for the devil and His angels – not for us (Matthew 25:41). Listen carefully – if the devil is your father, then according to the Bible, you will spend eternity with him in hell – it’s your choice not Gods. As a matter of fact it’s not God’s will that any man perish (2 Peter 3:9). If you end up there God is not pleased. He sent His only begotten Son to save you (John 3:16). Will you respond? Will you accept His sacrifice for your sins? Will you humble yourself and accept His love? Yes, God is love!

I respect those of other faiths. I believe in freedom of religion. I believe in freedom of speech. However, we do not worship or pray to the same God.
